BAUME & MERCIER – LINEA COLLECTION – ADDITIONAL STRAP COLORS

Posted by classiccreations on November 9, 2011

LINEA

A colorful strap collection that sets the tone Pearly Grey, Pepper Raspberry and Metallize Havana…

No, they’re not the heroines of the latest TV saga; they’re the interchangeable strap colors selected by the

Baume & Mercier design team of the Swiss Maison d’Horlogerie for the Linea watch. In addition to the curved,ultra-comfortable stainless steel bracelet, the 2011 /12 Linea strap’s collection provide not one, but three shiny leather straps in stylish colors for the new fall /winter season to transform your watch to suit your fancy and compliment your look. You can easily change the strap in a snap thanks to an ingenious, simple and totally secure system :

no need to call Romeo to the rescue and no broken nails! With all these new twists this season, Linea has everyone looking forward to what’s coming for spring / summer 2012 !

Feminity, an integral part of the brand’s genetic code

Renowned as a pioneer in women’s watches with the unforgettable Marquise, Galaxy, Stardust, and Catwalk models, Baume & Mercier anticipated the winds of change in the Twenties, sensing what female customers truly desired. Rich with curves and rounded shapes, Linea became an iconic watch from its first unveiling in 1987, openly embracing a sensuality that had fallen by the wayside as the era evolved. In 2000, Linea introduced the interchangeable strap concept, to the great delight of the brand’s aficionados around the world. The 2011 version has been redesigned with a polished /satin-finished bracelet that joins harmoniously with the case; a bezel with bold numerals… yet the new model retains the essence of the original, embodying elegance, comfort, and versatility, all with a fresh new feeling. The watch is available in 27 mm and 32 mm sizes, in quartz or chrono-quartz and most recently

in the brand’s first automatic edition. The 2011 Linea somehow knew our every wish before we expressed it! And, with this new range of beautiful interchangeable straps, it brings us a more colorful world. Add to that Baume & Mercier’s value of designing affordable luxury watches, men will have a good reason to envy the fairer sex!

Carl F Bucherer – Perfect Beauty. Alacria Swan.

Posted by classiccreations on November 2, 2011

Besides adding Zenith and Chanel watches to our impressive line up of brands, we now Carry Carl F Bucherher.

The Alacria Swan from Carl F. Bucherer represents a tribute to the Bucherer family and firm, and
to the city of Lucerne, where the Carl F. Bucherer watch brand was created. Set with over 1,300
diamonds, this astonishing piece of jewelry reflects the highest standards enshrined in the
traditional art of jewelry at Carl F. Bucherer.
Surrounded by picturesque mountains, the region around
Lucerne offers countless holiday pleasures within a very
small area, and has therefore rightly been called
“Switzerland in miniature”. With its “Mediterranean” flair,
Lucerne draws numerous visitors and tourists from all over
the world to a place where beauty can be experienced in its
purest and most unspoilt form.
In addition to impressive landmarks such as the world
famous chapel bridge and Mount Pilatus, it is the countless
swans on Lake Lucerne that make the city so magical.
Strolling along the idyllic lakeside walk, observers are
magically drawn into the spell cast by these mythical
creatures as they glide gracefully and majestically across the
lake, transforming the crystal-clear water into a shimmering
“Swan Lake”.
Space for visions. And for visions to become reality.
Apart from Lake Lucerne, swans (which in mythology are
regarded as a symbol of our dreams) have inspired another
place in Lucerne: the Schwanenplatz, from 1894 onwards the
home of the first branch of Bucherer, which opened in the
Kapellgasse in 1888. Over 120 years ago Carl Friedrich and
Louise Bucherer made their entrepreneurial dream a reality
here, laying the foundations for their future as visionary
watchmakers of the highest order. The tradition-steeped
company of “Bucherer” is still owned by the family today,
and is now managed by Jörg G. Bucherer representing the
third generation. The original philosophy of the founder has
always been preserved. Thus in 1919 Carl Friedrich Bucherer
created the basis for the Carl F. Bucherer brand with his first
ever collection of watches made by him. Thanks to the
movements that from 2007 onwards have been developed
and manufactured in the company’s own Manufacture, Carl
F. Bucherer is now also able to present technically and
aesthetically perfect timepieces, and to be always “one step
ahead of the times”.
Brilliant splendor created by the traditional art of jewelry.
With the Alacria Swan, Carl F. Bucherer presents a
masterpiece within the feminine “Alacria” range. The name,
which is a tribute to the Bucherer family that founded the
company, is intended to recall their dream of having their
own business, brought to fruition long ago in Lucerne. The
name is also based on powerful symbols, legendary myths
and romantic fairytales. Like the grey and unprepossessing
“Ugly Duckling”, ultimately transformed into a snow-white
and breathtakingly beautiful swan, the Alacria Swan tells a
new story of its own within the collection.
And it is an extraordinarily richly embellished story: with 348
diamonds on the case, 137 diamonds on the dial, one
diamond on the crown and 844 on the bracelet, all of the
very highest quality, the Alacria range now shines with a
new brilliance. Each individual jewel has been painstakingly
set by hand, so that the watch reflects the very highest
standards of the art of jewelry at Carl F. Bucherer. Perfect
comfort in wearing is ensured by the delicate bracelet, which
wraps itself around a lady’s slender wrist as gently as a
swan’s neck. As a sparkling timepiece of perfect beauty, the
Alacria Swan, which is fitted with a quartz movement and
indicates hours and minutes, conveys a look that is both
brilliant and practical.

The timepiece as a symbol of eternity.
Thanks to its breathtaking beauty, the Alacria Swan
transports the wearer into a ravishing enchantment that will
last for ever: like a swan that remains faithful to its partner
for life, no woman will want to be parted from this piece of
jewelry in white gold.
Yet this valuable companion also adorns its wearer with
intangible values, values that are linked to the “swan” motif
in art and literature. Thus the 1300+ white diamonds recall
the pure and virtuous nature of a swan, combining the
elements of water and air – its grace as a swimmer and its
enduring stamina in flight.
Thanks to its graceful lightness, expressed by the curved
case that recalls the shape of the female body, the watch
also suggests a swan about to take flight, overcoming the
power of gravity.
The Alacria Swan is sure to elicit a reaction of fascination
and approval in all who see it. One can only hope that the
wearer will be able to cope with the constant admiration!

Perrelet Seacraft Launched at Baselworld 2011

Posted by classiccreations on March 28, 2011

Seacraft

Plumbing the depths…
Evolving in a new universe, Perrelet is now accompanying
enthusiasts in search of discovery and emotions in the dark
depths of the oceans.
In a field so far not explored, Perrelet is plunging into this
aquatic world with three instruments of measurement; its
new collection comprises the 3 hands-date, the GMT and
the Chronograph. All three are proposed in a robust stain-
less steel case with elegant contrasting polished and brushed
surfaces. A 4mm thick sapphire crystal with anti-glare treat-
ment on both sides, and a stamped, screw-down case back,
guaranteeing water-resistance to 777 metres, complete the
case features.
The main model featured here, the Chronograph, has a
screw-down crown and two push-pieces encircled with alu-
minium rings, which contribute to the smooth functioning
of the mechanical movement. An automatic helium valve, a
vital element when the watch is being used in a diving
chamber, is located at 9 o’clock.
The fluting, which is the Brand’s aesthetic, is clearly recog-
nizable on the one-way, notched, rotating bezel, showing a
60-minute scale and featuring a luminescent marker at
12 o’clock.
The extreme demands imposed by this sometimes very dark
environment necessitate a clear legibility of its displays. The
symmetric indication of its counters on the white, black or
blue dials, the applied indexes and the hands containing
luminescent material produce wonderful contrasts.
This collection is very well-balanced and sits perfectly on the
wrist, whether with its elegant alligator leather or with its
comfortable brushed stainless steel bracelet. A high-tech
nylon strap is offered in the special watch box that comes
with the three models of this collection.
Immersion in a world of silence, a world of mystery some-
times feared but always admired, in which you will be able
to let yourself go with your new adventure companion.

Montblanc Limited Writers Edition Mark Twain

Posted by classiccreations on August 18, 2010

Every year since 1992, Montblanc pays tribute to great writers whose works have become part of world literature, with the creation of a new Limited Writers Edition. The stories these authors tell are as different as the lives they led.

In commemoration of the centenary of Mark Twain’s death, Montblanc has dedicated its Limited Writers Edition 2010 to one of America’s greatest novelists. The uniquely crafted writing instrument is a fitting homage to the creator of such classics as “The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn” and “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer”.

About the Author

Born and christianed Samuel Langhorne Clemens in 1835, he achieved fame as a writer under the literary pseudonym Mark Twain. The name originated from his experiences as a steersman on the Mississippi – back then, the term was used to indicate two fathoms (3.6 meters) of water, the depth needed for a boat’s safe passage.

Considered as the founder of Modern American literature, Twain was a vocal opponent of slavery and racial segregation. His works were socially critical yet entertaining novels and short stories, which inspired generations of authors. It was “The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn”, published in 1884, which became his ultimate masterpiece and earned him worldwide reputation as a literary genius. The story of a young runaway and black slave who, on a small raft on the Mississippi, proved that friendship and trust can break down all racial barriers. This work is without a doubt the milestone in Twain’s legacy and is still regarded as relevant and pioneering to this day.

Inspired by the Mississippi: the Montblanc Limited Writers Edition Mark Twain

The Montblanc Limited Writers Edition Mark Twain is entirely inspired by the works of the legendary writer and his Southern roots, apparent in many of his works. The sinuous curving lines on the cap and barrel of the writing instrument, made of deep blue precious resin, are inspired by the Mississippi and its shallow waves. It was this imposing “Ol’ Man River” that captivated Twain and influenced him throughout his life.

The Montblanc Limited Writers Edition Mark Twain

The top of the cap is shaped to resemble the steamboat chimneys, whose steam is illustrated by ivory-colored precious resin. The clip is formed by a stylised jaw’s harp, a musical instrument that was popular in the Southern States during Twain’s lifetime. Beneath the clip, the cap ring is marked with the author’s signature as well as the limitation number. Finally, the delicately designed 18 K gold nib is engraved with two fathoms used in former times as an indication for the depth under the keel of a sails boat.
